Mother Roasting and Placenta preparation Services:

Earthy Birthings currently offers Placenta Preparation  services to women intended to give birth in the towns of Exeter,Visalia,Three Rivers, and Lindsay California.  If you live outside of those areas please contact me and we may be able to make special arrangements.

I will be taking Placenta Encapsulation Clients, belly casting, breast milk soap making, and Eco family planning clients as well as post natal doula clients as of now. Please contact me for a referral for pre natal doulas as I am still tending to a toddler (and her two sassy sisters) and am not available for it as of yet.

The human placenta is an organ which connects the developing baby to its mother. It supports the baby with all of its nutrition and oxygen, and additionally eliminates the baby's waste and carbon dioxide.

Approximately 80% of women experience some sort of postpartum mood imbalance, including the "baby blues," as well as Postpartum Depression, which for many can be a serious condition. It is believed that placenta alchemy, and the consumption of the placenta, is a way to balance out a mother's hormone and nutrient levels after childbirth, helping to prevent steep drops that can cause such conditions.  Placenta Alchemy has been shown to replenish vitamin and mineral levels lost from the body after birth, increase breastmilk production, and lessen postnatal bleeding. If consumed later in life, the placenta can help balance mood swings during menopause and other big life changes.  Placenta capsules as opposed to blood pressure raising hormones are far more natural for the body during menopause.  Placenta Tinctures can be consumed by female offspring to ward of cramps and serious P.M.S as well..

Earthy Birthings adheres to OSHA Guidelines for Bloodborne Pathogen Transmission & Infection Prevention, as well as EPA guidelines for sanitation and safe food handling. 

Preparation in is my home in Exeter Ca.  After Placenta is delivered to me the capsules will be ready within 24 hours for pickup.  I am available to pick up based on location with an additional charge.

For more information or for a consultation in my home so you may see my workspace, please contact me.  The sooner you contact me in your pregnancy, the better.  I am currently only taking 8 due dates per month.  My slots fill up fast.  If for any reason you decide at the last minute you want to have preparation done you are more than welcome to call last minute.  I have been able to help folks the day of birth, but fee must be paid in full in cash at placenta drop.  If I can I will surely accommodate as I feel strongly that all should have the service if desired.  I am very flexible and will take payment plans, although the total fee must be paid in full by 38 weeks.

Some hospitals can give new mommies a really hard time so just to be on the safe side this is a great sample letter that should be given with your birth plan to Dr.  Nurse, and Doula

Dear L&D Nursing Staff at __________Hospital,

Jane and John Doe wish to take their placenta home immediately following birth for personal/religious reasons. Thank you for respecting our beliefs. ____________will transport the Placenta home and we will be happy to sign any necessary release forms.

Please help us keep it clean and uncontaminated if testing is needed please biopsy a piece and leave the rest intact and untouched. Please refrigerate or allow us use our own cooler. When examining only do so on a clean/sanitized surface Please DO NOT contaminate with formalin, glycol, saline, or any other substance. Please to not take the placenta out of the birthing room.

If the placenta needs to be stored in the pathology, please only biopsy a piece and leave the rest, otherwise please ask the nurse to clearly write our wishes on the outside of the placenta container to avoid any mix up or contamination. Please make it very clear that UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD IT BE TREATED WITH ANY HARMFUL CHEMICALS SUCH AS FORMALIN OR FORMALDEHYDE!

Doula Services: 

Basic Doula

- A free consultation interview to get to know your support options

- 2 prenatal visits in the comfort of your home

- Birth Plan counseling

- Comfort technique exploration and practice

- On-call 24/7 support beginning 2 weeks before your estimated due date, and extending to two weeks after the birth of your baby

- Continuous labor and birth support from when you call me in until a few hours after delivery

-relaxation techniques and supplies will be supplied for labor.

- 2 postpartum visits with lactation support (including a home-cooked meal and herbal remedies!)

It is my belief that financial limitations should never preclude a mom from having a doula. Please contact me for additional information on my fees and how we can arrive at a compensation arrangement that works for both of us.

Complete Doula Package 

All above services as well as additional pre- natal visit with a Bradley method crash course with you and your partner.  This will be an evening meeting with mother and partner or any other family that will be present at birth, for basic information and lactation education!  Usually scheduled around 36 weeks! 

-relaxation techniques and supplies will be supplied for labor.

4  postpartum concierge  visits, these visits are really to help acclimate family, I will be helping with lactation, can offer help around the house as well as on call lactation services and support for up to 4 weeks after birth!  (Including a home-cooked meal and herbal remedies!)

Visit #1: This visit will be made in the first 24 hours following the arrival of the baby.  It is a quicker visit so that I am not in your hair about an hour if needed.  Its purpose is to check on breastfeeding progress and determine what other services are needed at home (if any).  Also at this point you may need some herbal remedy ideas and I will then take your order and prepare them for you! If any I can go to your home if you permit and straighten up, make your bed, get dishes done, laundry folded and turned over so you have an empty washer! 

Visit #2: This visit will be made the first day of returning home scheduled when convenient for you!  At this point I can bring you a couple meals.  Check breastfeeding progress, and to supply advice and help with finding community resources for you and the family!  I may also help with household things for up to 2 hours!  Washing dishes, washing cloth diapers, let you take a shower. 

Visit #3:  In the second week of being home at your convenience, where I again will help with any lactation needs as well as help around the house or assist you for up to 2 hours!  This is a great time for moms to take a long bath, or for your family take a rest while I prepare something from your supply of food.  Or I can help with household chores!  This service really is just to give mom and dad or grandma a much deserved break for a couple hours!

Visit #4: This is the wrap up visit where I would love to hear how you felt about your birth story!  I can check nursing latch!  I will be available up to 4 hours for any help the family needs. We can also tackle eco- family planning if desired!  After this final visit I will be available to call or email for ongoing support if there are any questions, my hope is that you are successfully breastfeeding and happy so if you need me I am on call for you and your family up to 6 months after birth for questions and concerns!

Belly castings: I will gladly cast my clients belly for free at one of the prenatal appointments.


Belly casting appointments are available nights and weekends.  Please call or email for info.

 
Gift Certificates are available via pay pal payment, simply pick service, send payment for service with an added $5 shipping fee!  Your certificate will be beautifully packaged and shipped to you to present to expecting mommy at a shower, or can be mailed directly to mother!  Receipt for purchase will be emailed to paying customer!  For any reason if the service can not be preformed mother will get full refund in cash!
